A note from our librarian, Mrs. Murph:
Dear Parents and Students:
The CCS Library is hosting a Summer Reading Challenge for current JK-rising 6th grade students. Students are challenged to read as many hours as possible during the summer between June 1st and August 1st, 2026. All students who participate will receive a prize. Students may read books in print, magazines, E-Books, or listen to audio books. To receive a prize, students must turn in at least ONE completed Reading Log sheet with parent initials to Mrs. Murph the first week of school in August. While the Summer Reading Challenge is optional, studies have shown reading over the summer helps alleviate the “summer slide”, improves vocabulary, sparks imagination, and encourages students to be life-long readers. Students are encouraged to read books they enjoy, are interested in, as well as those that may challenge them. Reading individually and/or with parents (or other family members) is acceptable. Any of the school’s required summer reading assignments can also be recorded on the
Reading Log. Required Reading for all grades will be available on the school’s website
by June. Reading logs can be found in E-News. Have a blessed summer & Happy Reading!
