Did you know we have an after-school Girls Who Code club? This year, we have been learning to code in Python. Next year, we hope to demonstrate that knowledge through various competitions and project. If you are interested in coding with us, see Mrs. Gladin to get access to the learning platform.

Despite the negativity surrounding public education, today I witnessed nothing but positives. Eleven seniors presented their STEM portfolios—powerful reflections of their growth and achievements over the course of four years at NCHS. These presentations can be daunting, especially in front of a group of people, but they did an outstanding job. They showcased critical thinking, problem-solving, perseverance, empathy, communication, collaboration, leadership, and creativity, while sharing the meaningful lessons they have learned and challenges they have tackled. This is due in part to the teachers who pour knowledge and care into them each day, who push them outside of their comfort zones, and who raise the bar high because they know the students are capable of reaching it. It is also due to students who are willing to take on the challenge, who refuse to give up, who seek solutions, and who strive to be the best they can be. Today was a clear example of the positive impact of public education, and I am so thankful and blessed to be a small part of it. To the parents, thank you for entrusting us with your children and supporting our program.
