The goal is to award two scholarships annually, one to a graduating senior who has attended CCS for at least their full senior year.

The scholarships are in recognition of the contributions of Dr. Chris Lowder to Cabarrus County Schools (CCS) as a teacher, campus administrator, and in various district leadership roles, including Superintendent from 2015-2021. The second scholarship will be awarded to a staff member who has been employed since at least August 1st of the current school year. Both scholarships will be given towards enrollment in a certificate or degree program.
