Help Invest in the Future of Our Youth!
We have an opportunity to make a lasting difference in the life of a young person this summer.
Bridging the Gap is a four-week summer construction camp hosted annually by Logan Community leader Sean Muhammad. The program introduces youth to skilled construction trades through hands-on learning experiences that build confidence, discipline, and valuable career skills.
Throughout the camp, participants receive instruction in construction safety, machine operation, teamwork, and leadership development. To ensure students can focus on learning, breakfast, lunch, and daily snacks are also provided.
The cost to sponsor one child is $500. Currently, five youth have registered, but only two have been fully sponsored. We are seeking donors to help cover the remaining camp fees so that no child misses this valuable opportunity due to financial constraints.
Whether your contribution is $25, $50, $100, or any amount you feel led to give, every donation brings a child one step closer to participating in this life-changing program.
If you would like to support a child and invest in the next generation of skilled professionals and community leaders, please let me know. Your generosity is greatly appreciated and will have a meaningful impact.
Inbox me if you'd like to donate.

Superintendent Maurice "Mo" Green Launches North Carolina Superintendent’s Parent Advisory Council to Strengthen Family Voice in Public Education
RALEIGH, N.C. — The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction today announced the launch of the North Carolina Superintendent’s Parent Advisory Council, a new statewide initiative designed to strengthen meaningful family engagement in public education and support implementation of the state’s Strategic Plan.
The North Carolina Superintendent’s Parent Advisory Council will bring together parent leaders from across the state to serve in an advisory capacity aligned to the eight State Board of Education regions. The initiative is designed to elevate informed family voice, strengthen trust and ensure that those closest to students play an active role in shaping the future of public education.
For purposes of this initiative, the term "parent" is intended to be inclusive of all primary caregivers, including guardians and other family members who play a central role in a child’s education.
“As we continue to implement our Strategic Plan, it is critical that we engage families not just as stakeholders, but as informed partners,” said North Carolina Superintendent Maurice "Mo" Green. “This Council will help us build a strong group of leaders who understand our system and can provide meaningful input to improve outcomes for students.”

Building Informed Parent Leaders
Selected members will participate in a structured virtual orientation led by state education leaders to build understanding of:
- School governance and funding
- State and local education systems
- Accountability and performance measures

The Council will begin meeting quarterly in November 2026, providing structured input on key initiatives and helping inform ongoing implementation of the Strategic Plan.

These are republicans my friend.
The same school board candidates that were at the polls in 2024 explaining that they will keep boys out of the girls bathrooms. There are way more safety issues occurring in the bathroom that require legislation to address. Where's the same outrage is my question.
Did you know kids can go into vapes shops in our state and purchase drugs? There's no regulation of them-none. Did you also know they bring those drugs to school and share with others in those same bathrooms? Did you also know we had 3 child suicides in 2024 and between 5-6 in 2025 right here in Cabarrus County? I also don't see the same outrage In Kannapolis City Schools or at Rowan Cabarrus Community College both of which who do not have a specific bathroom policy for Transgender students. Lastly, did you know the school has a safety committee and the county has a juvenile crime prevention committee. If folks are really concerned with safety for our children, they should get more involved in actually addressing the problems instead of the circus we are seeing right now. Just imagine putting the same energy to our legislators in Raleigh...
