Another innocent child is gone.

A 2-year-old lost his life after finding a handgun that had been hidden inside a couch, according to investigators. No family should ever have to experience a tragedy like this.

As fi****ms instructors, we spend countless hours teaching people how to safely handle, carry, and store fi****ms.

But this isn’t just about passing a class or checking a box. It’s about understanding that every firearm owner has a responsibility that extends far beyond themselves.

A firearm should either be secured or under your direct control at all times—especially when children are present. It only takes seconds for a curious child to find what an adult believed was “hidden.”

Owning a firearm is a constitutional right. Safely storing and responsibly handling that firearm is a moral obligation.

If this heartbreaking story reminds even one person to secure their firearm today, it may prevent another family from living through the unimaginable.
