🌿 Messy hands, full hearts, and growing minds! 🤎

In the Reggio Emilia philosophy, we believe the outdoors is the ultimate classroom A guide to the environment as the ‘third teacher’. Childhood isn't meant to be tidy—it's meant to be a beautiful, vibrant mess!

What looks like "just mud" or "a bit of danger" to an adult is actually a child's highest form of research.

The Benefits of Encouraging Your Child to Get Messy in Nature: When we allow children to get wonderfully dirty, jump into puddles, and take healthy, unscripted risks, they aren't just making a mess. They are:

🌱 Building Resilience: Overcoming the fear of a little dirt and learning that mud washes off.

✨ Sparking Imagination: Turning a simple stick into a wand and a bucket of mud into a 5-star meal.

🧠 Developing Motor Skills: Stomping, splashing, and balancing with full-body coordination.

We embrace the grass-stained knees and the wild stories. Because sometimes, the absolute best way to learn about the world is to be fully immersed in it!

Why We Celebrate a Screen-Free Classroom 📵✨

In the Reggio Emilia approach, we view the environment as the "third teacher". To us, that means creating a warm, tangible space where children can use all of their "hundred languages"—painting, sculpting, building, and exploring nature—to make sense of the world.

Our preschool is proudly 100% screen-free, and here is why:🧠

Screens are everywhere: We know that in today’s modern world, children get plenty of exposure to screens, tablets, and TVs at home. Because their time is already saturated with digital media, we choose to offer a different kind of experience.🌱

Real-world connection: Children learn best through watching, touching, and interacting with real materials. When we remove digital distractions, we give their brains a chance to reset, which naturally encourages deeper problem-solving, meaningful conversations, and longer attention spans.🤝

Fostering authentic relationships: Early childhood is a critical time for nurturing human connection. Without screens, children are encouraged to look each other in the eyes, collaborate on projects, and develop crucial social and emotional regulation skills. Our goal isn't to judge how families spend their time at home, but rather to ensure that the time your little ones spend with us is deeply rooted in imagination, hands-on discovery, and human connection.

We’d love to hear from you in the comments: What is your child's favorite hands-on activity to do when they aren't looking at a screen? 👇🎨

We believe movement is the very first language! 🌿

We intentionally provide our babies with plenty of daily floor time. This unrestricted movement allows them to explore their bodies and space at their own natural pace. Why is this so important?

*Builds Strength: Supports healthy muscle development in the neck, core, and shoulders.

*Encourages Milestones: Creates the perfect foundation for natural rolling and crawling.

*Sparks Curiosity: Following the Reggio Emilia inspired approach, we treat the environment as a "third teacher". By offering soft, open spaces and placing fascinating materials just out of reach, we motivate babies to move, reach, and explore independently!

Every stretch, kick, and wiggle is a step toward greater independence. We love watching our little ones discover what their bodies can do.

Choosing a family home child care offers unique, lasting benefits. By combining continuity of care with mixed-age groups in a Reggio Emilia-inspired setting, children thrive in a secure, family-style environment. This approach fosters deep, trusting relationships and mirrors the natural, collaborative structure of a community.

Why We Champion Continuity of Care:
In a traditional center, children often transition to new classrooms and teachers every year. Our family home setting prioritizes continuity of care, which means your child stays with the same primary caregiver for years.
*Deep Secure Attachments: Infants and toddlers build the trust required to confidently explore their environment.
*Smoother Development: With no stressful annual transitions, children enjoy steady, uninterrupted progress with fewer behavioral regressions.
*True Partnerships: We get to know your child’s unique rhythms, interests, and learning styles inside and out.

The Benefits of Mixed-Age Groups:
Rather than grouping children rigidly by age, our Reggio-inspired space features a mixed-age group that resembles the real world. This natural, home-like dynamic offers benefits for both younger and older children:
*Peer Mentorship & Empathy: Older children naturally step into leadership roles, reinforcing their own knowledge and building empathy by caring for younger friends.
*Accelerated Learning: Younger children are inspired by observing more advanced skills, language, and problem-solving from their older peers.
*Natural Collaboration: Aligned with the Reggio Emilia Approach, children learn to work together, negotiate, and value different perspectives in a close-knit group.

💦 Splashing, Exploring, and Learning in the Great Outdoors! 🌿At our child care, we love getting our babies and toddlers outside to connect with the world around them. Water play is so much more than just a great way to stay cool on a warm day—it’s a magical, sensory-rich environment that acts as an outdoor classroom.Inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, we view children as capable, curious investigators. When a baby splashes their hands in a shallow tray or drops a leaf into a tub of water, they are actually engaged in deep learning!

Our outdoor environment truly serves as a "third teacher," allowing babies to explore their environment at their own pace and express their natural curiosities. We always prioritize safety with shallow, closely supervised water activities.
