Our 3rd grade Comets have been learning about Native American culture. They were able to explore Cherokee and Creek artifacts through the Northeast Georgia History Center's Travel Trunk program. "Travel Trunks" are hands-on educational kits filled with historical artifacts, replicas, clothing, and primary sources.

Thanks to our Partners in Education for providing this awesome opportunity!

Today was National Custodian Day, and we were so happy to celebrate those whose work goes far beyond caring for our building. Ms. Josie, Ms. Amanda, and Ms. Katie, thank you for caring for our students, supporting our staff, lending a hand wherever it’s needed, and taking pride in making Comer Elementary a place we are all proud to call home!

🐷🏆 We may not have brought the trophy back to Comer, but Mrs. Dickens definitely had the BEST coach in the ring!

A huge thank you to Dawson and Bug 🐖 for the expert show tips and a whole lot of fun at this year’s Madison County Administrative Showdown! 💙💛

No trophy needed—we’re calling this one a win for the memories! 😂🐷

Mrs. Scogin’s class wrapped up Georgia Reads Week with a favorite student activity—Flashlight Friday!

These second-grade Comets found cozy, creative spots around the classroom and took turns shining their flashlights while reading favorite books with classmates. What a fun way to celebrate our love of reading!

Families, let’s keep the reading fun going at home! We encourage our Comets to read every day and log those reading minutes on Beanstack. Every minute counts as we grow into stronger, more confident readers!

Shine on, Comets!

Order up!

Today, Ms. Jones’ classroom was transformed into the Counting Café, where our kindergarten Comets were busy cooking up some BIG math skills! These little chefs made pizzas, counted cookies and scoops of ice cream, and sorted salads, all while practicing important counting and sorting skills!

Learning was definitely on the menu, and these little mathematicians were having a blast!

Congratulations to our PTO's Comet Staff Member of the Month, first-grade teacher Ms. Madison Carey!

We are so thankful for Ms. Carey’s dedication to giving her first-grade Comets her very best. Her care and hard work makes a difference each and every day. Congratulations, Ms. Carey!

A special thank you to Sarah McGee of Glitzy Grit Co. for providing this month’s special gift! Ms. McGee has been crafting handmade “freshies” in our local area for six years. Based out of Ila and frequently found at local festivals, Glitzy Grit Co. creates customizable air fresheners perfect for cars, lockers, or any small space. Each freshie is handcrafted from start to finish—from scenting the pellets and melting them into fun shapes to hand-decorating each one.

Thank you Glitzy Grit Co. for helping us celebrate the amazing people who make Comer Elementary such a special place!
