This is what vocal freedom sounds like…
👏👏

As a vocal coach, I love how effortlessly Alex combines strong diaphragm support, a healthy belting slide, beautiful vibrato, and just the right amount of vocal edge. Nothing feels forced—it all feels open and free.

The best singers don’t just have great technique… they have the freedom to enjoy the music.

The encouraging part?

You don’t have to be a prodigy…

But you CAN train like one. 🖤

If you’d like to build more vocal freedom, stronger belting, and a voice that feels this effortless, check out the resources in my bio.

🎤 Trying singing tip after tip online can feel like this‼️

You may pick up a few ideas, but it can be hard to know what to practice next—or how each tip fits into the bigger picture.

Trying gives you ideas. Training gives you a path. A step-by-step approach helps you build your voice with intention.

You may not be a prodigy… but you CAN train like one.

If you’d like help growing as a singer and performer, I’d love to come alongside you. 🖤

🎤 They know how to keep you listening…

One of the things I love about this cover is that it doesn’t feel like a performance.

It feels like you’ve been invited to sit in the room and experience the music with them.

The harmonies are beautiful, but they’re only part of the reason this works.

The arrangement is simple, the vocal blend is effortless, and instead of trying to impress you, they simply invite you into the story.

As a vocal coach, I often remind singers that keeping someone’s attention isn’t always about singing higher or louder.

Sometimes it’s about making musical choices that make people want to hear the next line.

That’s exactly what these two do here so well.

The encouraging part?

Musicality, harmony, vocal blend, and storytelling are all skills that can be developed.

You don’t have to be a prodigy…

But you CAN train like one. 🖤

🎤 Just when you think it can’t get any better…

Then he hits that note.

One of the things I appreciate most about Travis Garland ‘s performance is that the big note doesn’t feel like it’s there just to impress.

It fits the emotion, the song, and the story perfectly.

That’s what great singers do.

They don’t just hit big notes…

They make you feel them.

You don’t have to be a prodigy…

But you CAN train like one. 🖤

🎤 Harmony is where the magic happens…

One of the things I love most about Jake Clark ‘s arrangement is that the harmonies don’t just support the melody…

They become part of the story.

Beautiful harmony has a way of adding emotion, depth, and color that a single voice simply can’t create on its own.

As a vocal coach, I encourage singers to think beyond simply singing the melody.

When you understand harmony, vocal blend, and arrangement, you begin making musical choices that elevate the entire performance.

That’s exactly what these artists do here.

The encouraging part?

Many of the skills that make performances like this stand out are trainable.

You don’t have to be a singing prodigy…

But you CAN train like one. 🖤

If you’d like to learn many of the techniques and musical choices that singing prodigies often develop naturally, let me know in the comments and I’ll send you a free vocal training to help you get started. 🎤✨

🎤 This is why her voice sounds so smooth…

One of the things I love about ’s singing is how seamlessly she transitions between her chest voice and head voice.

But what really stands out is that she doesn’t just transition up…

She transitions beautifully back down into chest voice as well.

That’s a skill many singers overlook, yet it’s one of the things that gives a voice a polished, professional sound.

As a vocal coach, I often tell my students that it’s not enough to simply reach the high notes.

Learning how to move freely between your different vocal registers—and back again—helps your voice sound connected, effortless, and expressive.

The encouraging part?

This is a trainable skill.

You don’t have to be a prodigy…

But you CAN train like one. 🖤

If you’d like to learn how to smoothly transition between your chest voice, head voice, and mix, I’d love to help.

🎤 This is what a well-rounded singer sounds like…

As a vocal coach, what I love about this performance from Allie Sherlock is that there isn’t just one thing she’s doing well.

She’s supporting her voice with her diaphragm.

She’s getting to open and free sounds.

Her riffs and runs are clean and intentional.

She transitions beautifully through her mix, belts with confidence, and brings her own unique vocal style to the song.

When all of those techniques work together, the result is a voice that sounds effortless, natural, and confident.

That’s what makes a singer truly well-rounded.

The exciting part?

These aren’t just gifts that a select few are born with.

They’re skills that can be learned if you train the right way.

You don’t have to be a singing prodigy…

But you CAN train like one. 🖤

If you’d like to build these same techniques into your own voice, I’d love to help.

🎤 Let’s throw it back to this World Cup performance from July—because why not?!

Singing in a stadium is harder than it looks…

First of all, what a beautiful performance by Ejae 👏

As a vocal coach—and an artist who’s performed live myself—one of the things I appreciate most isn’t just their voices.

It’s their focus.

Most people don’t realize that singing in a stadium can be incredibly challenging.

You’re often hearing your own voice echo back to you a moment later, and if you allow that delayed sound to distract you, it can completely throw off your timing and concentration.

Yet both of these artists remain calm, confident, and completely present.

That’s the mark of experienced performers.

I also love the message behind this song.

In a world that often focuses on what divides us, the World Cup reminds us that people from different nations, languages, and cultures can come together.

This performance reflects that beautifully.

Different voices.
Different styles.
One song.

As a vocal coach, that’s something I love to celebrate—not just great technique, but music’s ability to bring people together.

You don’t have to be a prodigy…

But you CAN train like one. 🖤

🎤 Great singers don’t always sing bigger…

One of the things I love about this cover by is that they never try to out-sing the original.

Instead, they ask a much better question:

“What does this song need?”

This arrangement leans into warm harmonies, tasteful phrasing, and a more modern adult-contemporary acoustic feel that beautifully supports the message of the song.

As a vocal coach, I remind singers all the time that great performances aren’t about showing everyone what you can do.

They’re about choosing what best serves the story.

That’s exactly what these artists do here.

They play to their strengths, create beautiful vocal blend, and let the emotion of the lyrics take center stage.

Ironically, that’s often what makes a performance the most memorable.

The encouraging part?

Learning how to make great musical choices is a skill.

You don’t have to be a prodigy…

But you CAN train like one. 🖤

If you’d like to become a more expressive singer, performer, and storyteller, I’d love to help.
