Good afternoon, Sedalia families! Mrs. King here 😊

I wanted to take a moment to share an update as we prepare for the new school year.

I will not be returning to Sedalia this year, as I have accepted a position with a district that is closer to my home. This was an incredibly difficult decision because I truly love the Sedalia community. It has been such an honor to serve as your principal, and I will deeply miss our students, families, and staff.

I am also excited to share that Mrs. Butcher will be serving as Sedalia’s principal this year! I truly can’t think of a better person to lead this amazing school. She cares deeply about our students, knows the Sedalia community well, and is committed to continuing the incredible work happening here.

Thank you for your trust, support, and partnership over the past two years. Watching your children learn, grow, and succeed has been one of the greatest privileges of my career. Sedalia will always hold a special place in my heart, and I will be cheering on the Cruisers from afar.

I wish each of you a wonderful school year!

Looking for a role where YOU choose the hours and the locations you work? Consider becoming a sub with the ESC and join us on July 29 for our Substitute Event! As a sub with the ESC you can choose your workdays and locations from over 25 school districts and 200 buildings. You can even meet with some of those districts in-person on the 29th!

No registration required for the event. Make sure to bring your original ID (driver's license, passport, or state ID), your original Social Security card, and $58 (credit or debit) for fingerprinting. We can't wait to meet you!

We are excited to announce a partnership with Right At School for before-and after-school care, kindergarten through fifth grade at all elementary buildings, beginning in the 2026-27 school year.
