Join us for the thesis defense of International Studies senior Vija Tessman. She will be presenting her original research project “Syncretic Sprits of Fire: Narratives of the jinn and related beings in Near Eastern religious corpora”, which recently received the 1st place award in the Arts, Culture, and Humanities category at the Denman Research Forum. Her presentation will be from 9-9:30am and open to the public. The actual defense will take place immediately afterwards and will be private.

Introducing our 3rd Speaker Series event: Sharla Sorensen will be coming to speak with International Studies about Careers in Intelligence & Security. She is an Air Force trained All-source intelligence analyst with 15 years experiences leading intelligence production and training teams. It’ll be a great event & we hope to see you there!

Introducing our 2nd event of the Speaker Series… retired Senior Foreign Officer & OSCE Ambassador to Moldova Jennifer Brush will be coming to OSU and give us a talk about Multilateralism & the Liberal World. This is on February 17th, 2026 in Thompson Library arm 165 and no registration is required.
