A meaningful clarification: the work shaping the classrooms of tomorrow began well before the formation of committees. What these collective efforts have done, however, is amplify the vision through the voices of our community, educators, and most importantly, our students. I’m honored to contribute to this work and to continue serving the students of Columbus City Schools.

Attending the Ohio Compact Conference for the first time on the institutional side of higher education and workforce development! I cannot stress enough how economic mobility begins in the classroom!
Understanding the importance of in-demand employer credentials, workforce exposure for students, and strong partnerships across business sectors is critical, especially during a time when we are seeing so much growth across our city and state!

Last night’s Academic & Facilities Alignment Committee meeting was incredibly informative as we discussed the future of our work. I’m excited to bring these conversations into the community and visit local campuses to truly understand what we mean by “Educational Visioning” creating equitable spaces for all students and educators.
We kick off with a visit to the new Thomas Worthington High School construction site on April 29. Proud to be part of shaping future-ready learning environments for Columbus City Schools.
Be sure to check out our community engagement sessions to connect with me, fellow committee members, and board members, we want to hear from YOU!

Appreciate Councilman Rob Dorans for continuing to push this important conversation forward. Our city’s future depends on thoughtful, informed, and inclusive dialogue, let’s stay engaged! 🏛️
I know our district voting system is bad. I am pushing for reform | Councilman Rob Dorans: I voted against Columbus council's voting district system. I am hosting forums so we can reflect neighborhood voices and citywide priorities.

This Thursday, April 9 marks our final commission meeting as we officially finalize and sign our report to be turned over to City Council for consideration.
This experience has truly been instrumental in deepening my understanding of our city, its charter, and the overall political structure, especially the fiscal responsibility carried by our elected and appointed officials, and how those decisions directly impact our neighborhoods and communities here in Columbus.
Grateful for the opportunity to serve and lend my voice in such an important process. A special thank you to the Councilman for the appointment and the trust.
Until then… you’ll just have to catch me in another capacity! 👀

Over the weekend, I had the pleasure of attending the Franklin County Democratic Women’s Brunch hosted by Congresswoman Joyce Beatty for the fourth year in a row. Each year is filled with inspiration, but one of the most memorable moments was in 2024 when we received a special message from our Madame President, Kamala Harris, ahead of her presidential election.
Always grateful to be in a room full of today’s and tomorrow’s leaders.

During my time on the commission, I’ve gained a deeper understanding of the complexities behind how our elected officials are compensated through research, city charter guidance, and comparisons with other major cities. It’s essential we recognize both the scope of these roles and the importance of fair compensation to attract strong, capable leadership and protect the future of our city!

Last night’s first Academic & Facility Alignment Committee meeting was truly informative. I’m excited about the approach Superintendent Dr. Angela Chapman and board members are taking, bringing this important work directly into the community.
Over the next year, we’ll be discussing innovative school buildings that support the full student learning experience and ensuring every facility is accessible for all students and their families. Most importantly, these conversations will happen in the community and reflect what Columbus values as we design future academies and campuses.
Accessibility and special education remain one of my key priorities, and I will continue asking the important questions and challenging plans to ensure we get this right.
