We are thrilled to announce that the OSU Injury Biomechanics Research Center’s community outreach program, Buckle Up With Brutus, has received a contribution from Honda. The funds will support our child passenger safety initiatives at a larger scale than ever before. We are committed to providing education and resources, distributing car seats and booster seats, supporting local events, developing online content, and furthering the training of our staff to help keep every child safe on every ride. Thank you, Honda, for this amazing investment in our children’s safety!

Boosters can help boost them up so the shoulder belt fits properly across their shoulder instead of rubbing uncomfortably against their neck. This reduces the temptation to tuck it away under their arm.

Hi Buckeyes and friends of Brutus!

We are conducting an online survey on CRS misuse for Child Passenger Safety Technicians (CPSTs)

The Ohio State University and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia are working together to create educational videos for child passenger safety. The videos show computer-simulated crash testing of child restraint systems (CRS) being used with and without misuse (installation errors). The goal is to show the importance of using child seats correctly. We want CPSTs’ feedback on these draft videos – whether you think they are valuable, how you might use them, ideas to make them better teaching tools, etc.

To participate, you must be at least 18 years old AND be a currently certified CPST or CPST Instructor.
