The W’s School of Education has led lifelong learning for 140+ years, with excellence in teacher preparation, professional development, and community enrichment. The Department of Education offers quality undergraduate programs in teacher education in Elementary Education and Special Subject Areas for Grades K-12.The W also offers graduate programs that provide students who have received a baccala

ureate degree with opportunities to learn research-based content beyond that of their undergraduate programs while refining their skills as practicing professionals.

THE WORK THAT BUILDS MISSISSIPPI. 💪 For more than 140 years, The W has believed in the people who do the work. We’re proud to prepare them, support them, and serve alongside them across Mississippi.

This Labor Day weekend, we celebrate the teachers in our classrooms, the support staff who keep our schools moving, and the education professionals serving children and families every day. And we celebrate the school leaders who support them.

We hope your long weekend brings a little rest to those who spend their days pouring into others. Strong communities start with strong educators.
