On May 9, we said goodbye to our first home.

The original 1918 building on Fishinger Road has been Wellington's Fishinger Road address since our founders purchased it in 1981. On Saturday, alumni, founders, former faculty, trustees, and donors gathered to honor what happened inside those walls — and to break ground on what comes next.

Former Head of School David Blanchard, founders Jeff Wilkins and Jack Ruscilli, and early faculty members Darrel Ivy, Mary Potter, Jill Webb, and Chris Robbins shared stories that reminded us: it was never just a building. It was where something remarkable began.

The 1918 building may come down this summer. But the people who filled it — and everything they built together — aren't going anywhere.

What do you get when a Wellington grad misses learning in a social setting? You build it yourself.

Jacquie Sierzputowski '18 co-founded The Siposium — expert-led talks on niche topics, hosted at Columbus breweries, designed to bring the joy of curious conversation back to adult life. Since launching in 2024, it's already earned a Columbus Monthly feature, a COSI Science Festival partnership, and a City of Columbus grant.

The name traces back to Ancient Greek symposiums. The spirit traces back to Wellington.

What a night. ✨

Friday's Alumni Celebration of Awards was everything — live jazz, incredible student art, and a room full of Jags showing up for each other.

We officially inducted the 2018 Boys Tennis Team into the Athletic Hall of Fame 🎾 and celebrated Dorina Yessios '92 with the 2026 Distinguished Alumni Award. Two groups that remind us exactly what the Wellington Way looks like in action.

Congrats to all our honorees. We're so proud. Go, Jags! 🐾

Four panels. Twenty volunteers. Countless conversations that matter.

This year, Wellington freshmen and sophomores wrapped up their final JagsConnect career panel of the 2025–26 school year — hearing from professionals across healthcare, law, forensics, retail, and real estate about what their careers actually look like, and what it takes to build one.

The through line? Problem solving, curiosity, and not waiting for someone to hand you an opportunity.

Huge thank you to all 20 JagsConnect volunteers who gave their time across four panels this year. You're the reason this program works. 🐆

Some evenings just feel like Wellington.

We’re so proud to celebrate our 2026 honorees at this year’s Alumni Celebration of Awards on Friday, April 17:

Dorina Yessios ’92 — Distinguished Alumni Award recipient and global leader in energy, infrastructure, and project finance. A true reflection of the Wellington Way.

The 2018 Boys Tennis Team — Athletic Hall of Fame inductees and the first team in Wellington history to win a state championship in tennis.

The evening includes live music from the Blue Notes performing alongside alumni musicians, a student art showcase in Croft Commons, a State of the School from Head of School Eliza McLaren, and a post-event reception at Eliza’s home — open to all alumni, with a special shoutout to reunion years and JagsConnect volunteers.

From a "non-linear" path to policy director for a national financial watchdog — Chris Noble '10 is proof that the winding road can lead somewhere remarkable.

In our latest Jags on the Roam, Chris reflects on how Wellington taught him to ask the right questions, engage with opposing ideas, and never panic if the map doesn't look like everyone else's. His current work at the Private Equity Stakeholder Project connects legal training, political strategy, and financial policy — skills he built one unexpected chapter at a time.

"Don't be afraid to chart your own path. Your decisions and your life are your own."
