Jaime Sabel, Associate Professor in the Department of Molecular Genetics, has been appointed Director of the Ohio State Center for Life Sciences Education. Sabel began her research career as a developmental geneticist and then transitioned to biology education research. Her current research focuses on the effective use of various classroom learning scaffolds to support undergraduate students in learning biology.

Biology Major Advisor, Amy Selby, came dressed as Bacteriophage for Halloween! Amy TA’s in Bio1113 SEA Lab!

Dr. Erin O’Brien came to first year Biology Survey courses to talk about the metacognition happening in the PLTL Biology courses.

PLTL (Peer Lead Team Learning) helps students apply practices and build connections in content they’ve learned in other courses, not just Biology courses! Dr. O’Brien has built a robust PLTL program in the Bio Major. If you need to take Bio1113 or 1114 consider jumping into a PLTL section!

We welcomed the class of 2028 with an ice cream party in the Jennings Courtyard! Thanks to all who came out, and helped with this fun event!
