This next staff member reveal might surprise some of our Madison Families! She has been a part of our team since last October! This will be her first full year at Madison and as a team we are so excited!
Hello! My name is Lani (Alana) Best, and I am excited to be part of the amazing IS team at Madison. I bring 18 years of experience in special education, with the majority of my career focused on supporting students with behavioral needs. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to teach for both Marysville Schools and Dublin City Schools, working with students in 6th-12th grade. I am especially excited to have started this new chapter at the elementary level where I get to test out my skills with a younger audience.
I graduated from The Ohio State University (B.S. Psychology) and Ashland University (MEd. Special Education). I am a proud Buckeye and although I have lived in Marysville for 23 years, I'm a Clevelander at heart and have been cheering on Cleveland sports teams since birth, yes even the Browns.
Outside of school, I have been married to my husband, Mike, for nearly 25 years. He serves as a lieutenant with the Marysville Fire Department. Together we have three amazing children: Calla (21), Jameson (20), and Addie (17). Our family also includes two dogs, Hulk and Harlo, who keep life fun and entertaining.
When I'm not at school, I enjoy traveling, reading, watching Reality TV, and spending quality time with my family and friends. I look forward to spending another year as a Cruiser, learning and collaborating with my colleagues, building strong relationships with students and families, and making a positive impact in our school community for years to come.
