We are currently in the midst of our [Double Good Gourmet Popcorn Fundraiser](https://s.dgpopup.com/366cjp5m), and I am so proud of the momentum we have built so far! As we head into the final days, I wanted to rally our incredible Columbus community to help our Air Force JROTC cadets finish strong.

**Current Status:**

* **Total Sales:** $570.00
* **Goal:** $9,500.00
* **Event Ends:** Saturday, May 23, at 5:00 PM

To hit our $9,500 target for the Red Tail Cadets here at Fort Hayes, we are looking at selling 864 bags. With 75 cadets in our unit, that averages out to just **11.5 bags per cadet**. I know that with our collective spirit and determination, this is absolutely within our reach!

**Why it matters:**
It is a reality of our program that 80% of what we are able to do—the training, equipment, and life-changing experiences—is self-funded through our own hard work, sponsorships, and fundraising. What may look "free" on the surface is powered by the time and energy we invest together. We compete to earn every dollar that goes directly into the development of our Columbus students, making every single sale meaningful.

It truly takes all of us to make this work. Please help us by sharing our [event link](https://s.dgpopup.com/366cjp5m) with your friends, family, and neighbors. Let’s show everyone what the Red Tails can achieve when our Columbus community stands together!

Thank you for your unwavering support and for everything you do for our cadets.

Air Force Junior ROTC OH-871 Cadet Colonel Andre Knox was selected as an inaugural winner of the MSgt Tyler Simmons Scholarship Award yesterday in a ceremony held at Columbus Eastmoor Academy. The scholarship honors MSgt Simmons, an Eastmoor Academy graduate, who dedicated his life to service, scholarship, and leadership, the 100 Black Men of Central Ohio Foundation. It honors MSgt Simmon’s sacrifice to our nation when he and his KC-135 crew from Rickenbacker Air National Guard base were lost performing thier air refueling mission in action over Iraq earlier this year. oh871pride
