We offer professional development for a variety of topics including certification coursework with the OGA. Beth Reusser is a wife, mother of two children, and a Dyslexia Therapist. Their oldest child was diagnosed with severe dyslexia in first grade and this prompted her to start learning and advocating for a proper education for him. Eventually, that led her down the road to becoming a Dyslexia T

herapist. Beth is part of Southern Methodist University’s Ohio cohort that graduated in 2013. S.M.U.’s Learning Therapy graduate program required six semesters of coursework and 700 supervised practicum hours. After passing a national exam through the Academic Language Therapy Association (A.L.T.A.) she became a Certified Academic Language Therapist (C.A.L.T.). She is an active board member of Olentangy Dyslexia Network in the Olentangy Local School District and is a board member of the Central Ohio Branch of the International Dyslexia Association. Beth has a private practice in Dublin, Ohio where she remediates students, consults with parents and educators, and presents various programs to groups about dyslexia and literacy.

Classroom Educator Level, CE/OGA is intended for educators teaching in a general education setting. The CE practitioner is certified to provide and adapt literacy instruction for the whole class or for small groups needing supplemental support. Classroom Educator is a stand alone certification for practitioners in a general education setting.

The Orton-Gillingham Academy (OGA) is a certifying and accrediting body dedicated to upholding the highest professional and ethical standards for the practice of the Orton-Gillingham (OG) Approach for the treatment of dyslexia. OG is an approach that prepares the practitioner to individualize instruction to meet each learner’s specific needs.
