Career Day is always bigger than one moment. 🌱
Some seeds are planted quietly. A child may walk past a scientist, hear a lawyer speak, watch a barber create confidence, see the behind-the-scenes world of television and music, or meet a realtor, investor, plumber, banker, artist, or someone serving in the military… and not realize until years later that something sparked inside of them that day.
At Scottwood Elementary, we believe exposure matters. Sometimes children only dream as far as they can see, so we work hard to introduce them to careers beyond the everyday and open their minds to possibilities they may have never known existed.
The beautiful thing about planting seeds is that growth doesn’t always happen immediately. Sometimes Career Day becomes a memory they revisit later in life… and suddenly that one conversation, demonstration, or experience becomes the very thing that helped shape their future.
Today we planted seeds. Tomorrow, they grow. 💚

El Día de las Profesiones siempre es mucho más que un solo momento. 🌱
Algunas semillas se siembran en silencio. Un niño puede conocer a una científica, escuchar a un abogado, ver a un barbero crear confianza, aprender sobre lo que pasa detrás de cámaras en la televisión y la música, o conocer a un agente de bienes raíces, inversionista, plomero, banquero, artista o miembro del ejército… y tal vez no darse cuenta hasta años después de que algo despertó dentro de ellos ese día.
En Scottwood Elementary creemos que la exposición a diferentes oportunidades es muy importante. Muchas veces los niños solo pueden soñar hasta donde alcanzan a ver, por eso trabajamos para presentarles carreras y profesiones que quizás nunca habían conocido o imaginado.
Lo hermoso de sembrar semillas es que el crecimiento no siempre ocurre de inmediato. A veces el Día de las Profesiones se convierte en un recuerdo al que regresan más adelante en la vida… y de pronto esa conversación, experiencia o demostración termina siendo algo que ayudó a formar su futuro.
Hoy sembramos semillas. Mañana crecerán. 💚
