Check out Addis Wang's feature in the Wikimedia Blog, which covers his work with Wikipedia Asian Month, Wiki Loves Monuments, and of course, Wikipedia Connection!

"According to Wang, a strong encyclopedia needs a community to support its existence, and those community members will not have the motivation to volunteer before learning about the project and understanding its needs."

Addis Wang first thought of Wikipedia Asian Month in 2015 and worked to coordinate the project with other Wikipedians.

Great job to all our members who contributed photos of campus and beyond to this year's Wikipedia Takes Columbus 2017 event!

From April 9 - 19, members of the Ohio Wikimedians User Group and Ohio State's Wikipedia Connection contributed their photos of Columbus, Ohio State University, and the surrounding metropolitan area to help illustrate Wikipedia. This album is a sampling; over 180 photos were contributed during the campaign. Check them all out here:

Wikipedia Takes Columbus 2017, our annual photography event, is underway! Help illustrate our city on Wikipedia by uploading your photos to the Wikimedia Commons.

In place of our weekly workshop tonight, we'll be doing a photo scavenger hunt. We'll be meeting at our normal room at 5:30, distributing checklists and snacks, and then heading out.

Wikipedia Takes Columbus 2017 is a ten-day photography event hosted by the Ohio Wikimedians User Group and Wikipedia Connection at Ohio State.

The results of our Art+Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon at Ohio State are in! 34 editors created 11 new articles / 5 new drafts, improved 24 existing articles, and contributed over 10,700 words. Congratulations and great work to all participants!
