Upper School Science Teacher Dr. Kevin Sweeney and his daughter, Marie Sweeney ’28, recently traveled to Chicago and reconnected with some wonderful CSG alumnae! They had a fantastic time catching up with Katherine Tierney ’15 (not pictured), Hannah Kwak ’20, and Elizabeth Bruening ’23. We love seeing our faculty and current students stay connected with alumnae across the country. No matter where our graduates go, the CSG community is always close by! ❤️💛

The Columbus School for Girls community mourns the loss of Dr. Perry Rogers, a beloved educator and dedicated member of the CSG community for 35 years, who passed away on July 7, 2026.
Dr. Rogers was an influential member of the CSG faculty and staff beginning in 1982. As chair of the history department, Dr. Rogers inspired generations of students through his rigorous teaching, legendary history mysteries, and unwavering commitment to developing thoughtful, critical thinkers. Beyond the classroom, he embraced the spirit of CSG, enthusiastically participating in cherished traditions like the Scholarship Walk and performing his Hans and Franz skit with colleague Jack Guy. He also served as assistant head of school, overseeing special projects, and coordinated CSG's summer school program, contributing to the life of the School in countless ways.
Dr. Rogers was also a proud CSG parent to alumna Elisa Rogers '96. His legacy of scholarship, mentorship, and dedication to girls' education will continue to inspire generations of Unicorns.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, former colleagues, and the many students and alumnae whose lives he touched.

CSG alumnae don't follow the standard — we set it. ❤️💛 Last year, 12% of alumnae made a gift to CSG, far above the national average of 8%. We're just 30 donors away from maintaining that same momentum this fiscal year before June 30.
Our students learn from you, see their futures in you, and thrive because of your support. Every gift counts. Help us set the standard once again by donating to CSG: https://giving.veracross.com/csg/give/give-now -amount-step
Thank you for your loyalty to CSG and for always showing our girls what it means to lead.

At this year’s Cum Laude Induction Ceremony, the student honorees were recognized for their academic achievement and commitment to learning. The Upper School also got to hear from guest speaker, Dr. Michelle Golla ’00!
She reminded students that success isn’t about perfection, but about resilience. She encouraged them to choose their own path, step into spaces where they may be the only one, and never let expectations define their potential.
