It is with sadness that we share the passing of former Head of School Elizabeth “Liza” Lee, who passed away on September 12, 2026.
Liza served as CSG’s 12th Head of School from 2009 to 2014, bringing to CSG a distinguished career in girls’ education and a deep belief in the potential of girls and women.
Perhaps Liza’s greatest legacy was the impact she had on the people around her. She believed deeply in others and had a remarkable ability to help them see their own potential. Her leadership touched generations of students, alumnae, families, faculty, and staff.
Her impact can still be felt throughout CSG today—in the people she believed in, the leaders she nurtured, and even in the spaces she helped envision. As an integral leader in the Landmark Campaign, Liza helped usher in significant investments in our campus, including a new athletics complex and renovations to the Ruch Dining Room and commons.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Liza’s family and to the many friends, colleagues, students, and alumnae whose lives she touched. We are grateful that CSG was part of Liza’s remarkable life in education and will remember with gratitude the leadership, belief, and care she shared with our community.
