We are bursting with pride as we celebrate three of our incredible C4 Early Childhood Education students for taking a massive step in their professional journeys!

A huge congratulations to Lila Motamedi, Naomi Ibarra, and Taylor Ellison on officially signing with the Indiana Early Childhood Education (ECE) Registered Teacher Apprenticeship Program and BCSC! ✍️✨

🌟 What is the ECE Apprenticeship?
This program allows students to launch their careers through a "earn-while-you-learn" model:
● Tiered Degree Path: A clear route from a high school diploma to a Bachelor’s degree.
● On-the-Job Training: Hands-on experience in the classroom mentored by expert teachers.
● Increased Wages: Students earn a paycheck that grows as they master new skills and earn credentials.

These future educators are proving that passion plus hard work equals a bright future for Indiana’s youngest learners. We can't wait to see the impact you'll make in the classroom!

For this , we’re looking back at our C4 Dental students’ incredible trip to the IU School of Dentistry!

Our future dental professionals spent the day touring the clinics, exploring the labs, and getting a firsthand look at what life is like at one of the top dental schools in the country. It was an inspiring day of learning that definitely put some smiles on our faces!

Last week, students in our C4 Program’s PCC (Preparing for College & Careers) classes wrapped up their look at the Fashion & Textiles pathway.

As part of the curriculum, all Freshmen are required to take PCC, where they spend the year exploring each available career pathway. To finish this unit, teams designed outfits using trash bags and recyclables for their Annual Trashion Show. It was a quick, hands-on activity where students modeled their team's creations in the hallway for their peers.

It was a great way to see these concepts in action as our Freshmen continue to navigate their future career options!

The answer to this week's Question of the Week is B) Dual Credit! 🎓✨

While "Dual Credit" is a national term, nobody does it quite like we do here at C4 Columbus Area Career Connection.

We aren't just talking about a few students here and there—our students are shattering records! During the 2025-2026 school year, C4 students achieved something incredible:
📈 6,600 Total Dual Credits Earned: That is thousands of hours of college coursework completed before graduation day.
📚 61 Different Classes: We offer 61 distinct courses that carry dual credit, ranging from Health Careers and Precision Machining to Information Technology and Criminal Justice.

What does this mean for our students? It means they are entering the workforce or college with a massive financial advantage and the confidence that they can handle college-level rigor.

Whether you're looking to jumpstart a career or save a fortune on a university degree, C4 is the place to make it happen. Way to go to all our 2025-2026 dual credit earners! 🏆

🚌 STAFF SPOTLIGHT: JR Owen 🚌

This week, we are proud to feature a true veteran of the road and a familiar face to many in the BCSC community: JR Owen!

JR’s roots run deep in our district. After graduating from East High School in ’97, he went on to earn a degree in Architectural & Civil Design from Ivy Tech in 2003. While he has a designer’s eye, his heart has always been in the "machinery" of our schools.

Here’s a look at JR’s incredible journey with us:
● 22 Years as a dedicated BCSC Bus Driver.
● 15 Years of keeping the fleet running as a Bus Mechanic.
● Passions: A love for farming and a deep interest in history.
● The Dream: JR doesn't need a fancy resort; his dream vacation is simply anywhere he can spend quality time with his family.

JR’s grit and technical expertise make him an invaluable part of our team, but it’s his perspective on life that truly inspires.

JR’s Words of Wisdom: "Never give up. There is always a way."

Thank you, JR, for your decades of service and for being a constant, reliable presence for our students every single morning!

Proud moment for our Advanced Manufacturing class!

For the 3rd year in a row, our students achieved a 100% pass rate on the NIMS CNC Mill Operator Certification exam. This certification requires students to complete hands-on skill assessments in safety, machine maintenance, CNC setup, operation, and programming, along with passing a written exam that tests their knowledge and technical skills.

Students also completed the C-Clamp project from start to finish, gaining real-world experience with multiple machine setups, precision operations, and working with different materials.

Great job to these students for their hard work, focus, and dedication to mastering advanced manufacturing skills!
