Snapshots from PreK today! 😊

Today we learned about dot markers and how to use them, and everyone had so much fun!

During centers, students got to choose from a variety of activities, including sorting and matching shapes, matching uppercase and lowercase letters, completing three- and four-letter word puzzles, and creating back-to-school pictures with tangram shapes!

During our afternoon centers, students worked on a color-by-letter activity and completed another page in their alphabet journals. They practiced cutting, gluing, and sorting the letter A into uppercase and lowercase groups.

They are also having so much fun in our dramatic play center, which is currently set up as a kitchen! 😊

Our middle school students are preparing to commemorate the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001 by learning not only about the events of that day, but also about the extraordinary courage, sacrifice, faith, and service shown by first responders and ordinary citizens.

As part of their learning, students are exploring Scripture passages about courage in difficult times — including Joshua 1:9, Isaiah 41:10, Psalm 56:4, 2 Timothy 1:7, and Deuteronomy 31:6 — and reflecting on how these words of faith connect to the bravery witnessed on 9/11.

Next week, our students will put that reflection into action as they participate in the 9/11 Memorial Climb/Walk with the Grandview Heights Fire Department, honoring those who lost their lives and those who courageously answered the call to serve.

A meaningful connection of faith, history, remembrance, and our Courage to Climb theme. šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡øāœļø

Students in Mr. Luther’s 5th grade class participated in a ā€œWriting Behind Your Backā€ activity.
Students build a positive classroom environment by writing compliments and encouraging messages to one another. The activity concludes with a class discussion about how our words affect others, focusing on the negative impact of gossip and talking behind someone’s back and the importance of choosing kindness, respect, and positivity.
