So proud of our work with Centra Pace in Lynchburg, Virginia with providing important support during the pandemic.

Collaboration and Intergenerational Programming to Promote Wellness and Healthy Aging | Open Space | National Recreation and Park Association Collaborations and partnerships between organizations and universities came together during COVID-19 to provide creative and innovative solutions to safely provide recreation, nutrition education and intergenerational opportunities to 120 homebound Centra PACE older adults in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Our Virginia team is putting together a Blessing Box similar to the one pictured. Lynchburg already has Blessing Boxes located in public places & stocked with non-perishable food items & anything else considered a blessing. Items are anonymously donated and received. Stay Tuned!

Libbie & Together, We Inspire Smart Eating's Windy WISE brought beans to the children of Timberlake United Methodist Church's ELC this month. Green beans in their raw form were great to explore using the 5 senses!

Together, We Inspire Smart Eating's Windy WISE was excited to bring the topic of “greens” to the children at Timberlake United Methodist Church's ELC. Children and teachers enjoyed tasting a variety of salad greens with a dab of a healthy raspberry vinaigrette dressing. They also enjoyed a classic story with a great review of how vegetables grow!

Together, We Inspire Smart Eating's Windy Wise's flight to Timberlake United Methodist Church's ELC in January brought tomatoes of all kinds! After exploring with tomatoes students talked about the many common foods & recipes that have tomatoes in them. They wrapped up the lesson with “shopping” for items to make salsa! What was the main salsa ingredient??.... tomatoes!

Libbie & Together, We Inspire Smart Eating's Windy Wise were excited to fly back to Timberlake United Methodist Church's ELC after the holiday break in January! This time Windy Wise brought sweet bell peppers. Using our 5 senses to explore and learn about the peppers was a big hit!
