Good morning! A few reminders

1. After school rehearsals start today! We will rehearse every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday and release at 5:00 PM. Rehearsal schedule may be adjusted throughout these first couple of months to accommodate for the days that we missed band camp.

2. Student must complete their dragonfly accounts. We worked on these during the first two days of school, but some may have one or two forms left so that the account is completely cleared.

3. STUDENTS! Instead of Microsoft Teams, we will be using a different platform called SportsYou. It has many of the same functions and does not run the risk of getting reset every year. Information to join the Columbus band sportsYou is posted below. Every student is required to join by computer or phone

Good morning, falcon band
Unfortunately, band camp will also be canceled for this week due to unforeseen circumstances with the building. We will, however, make adjustments to our practice schedule for the first two weeks of school to make up for camp. We will catch up and everything will be fine. Trust the band staff and the process. See you when school starts. Camp starts immediately at the beginning of the year.

Please do not direct any negativity towards district staff or administrative entities. Everyone worked really hard to try to make this happen. It’s just not feasible at this moment and our students will still be ready to perform and compete for this entire fall season.

ANNOUNCEMENT!!! 📣
Due to ongoing renovations at the high school, band camp will be postponed for one week! There will be NO band camp Monday! Camp will start July 13! Take the extra week to review music and acclimate to the heat! We will hit it hard on the 13th!

Morning! We are accepting water donations!!! Food Giant is having a one-day sale on cases of water today! Grab some and bring it to camp next week!

BAND CAMP STARTS IN ONE WEEK!!!! Students, if you have not already, this is the time to start heat acclimation. Greatly increase your daily water consumption. Take about 15 minutes a day to just be outdoors. We don’t want anyone passing out on day 1! We will also be taking care of Dragonfly on the first day of camp! Make sure you have your health insurance, contact, and medical information accessible for signup.

REMINDER! Mini camp and marching clinic will begin tomorrow and Tuesday from 8 to 11 AM. All returning and rising freshman band members ARE REQUIRED to be in attendance. Color guard does not have to attend on Monday as they will have their own camp on Tuesday and Wednesday! These rehearsals are mandatory and are the only way students will have a spot in the show!

CONGRATULATIONS TO CLARINETIST CARISSA JENKINS AND DRUM MAJOR/FLAUTIST KAMYRA HUGHES! THEY HAVE BEEN NAMED COLUMBUS HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 2026 VALEDICTORIAN AND SALUTATORIAN!  THAT’S RIGHT! MAJOR SHOUT OUT FOR CONTINUING THE TRADITION OF MUSICAL AND ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE IN THE CHS BAND OF CHAMPIONS!
