Pre-SOMA at The Ohio State University

There will be a Pre- SOMA meeting this Thursday that will be held in the Buckeye Brutus room in the Ohio Union at 5:30 pm. There will be a phlebotomy skill session which includes playing with tourniquets and dummy arms. Anyone is welcome!

There will be a Pre SOMA meeting Thursday, April 7 in the Dave Griner meeting room in the RPAC. There will be a presentation from Princeton Review about their services and they also will be offering a discount for all Pre-SOMA members! It will be at the usual time of 5:30pm and probably will not go the full hour. Hope to see you there!

Hey Everyone!
There will be a Pre-SOMA Meeting- Thursday, March 3rd (Tomorrow) from 5:30-6:30 in the Buckeye Brutus Room. Jacob Koopman (a former Buckeye) who attends Ohio University Heritage College of Medicine will be coming to talk about why he chose DO. He'll also be answering questions on the application process including helpful tips and tricks, the interview process, his favorite parts of DO school, and extra things you could be doing now to increase your chances of getting into the school of your choice. There will also be a presentation on the Kaplan MCAT prep course. Anyone is welcome!

The OSU Chapter of Students for a National Health Program (SNaHP) cordially invites you to our next event which will start with a brief presentation called Single Payer 101, a 15 minute survey of:

1) Our current system of healthcare finance
2) Economic and structural inefficiencies inherent to our current system
3) How a single-payer system would work to remedy these inefficiencies.

The talk will be immediately followed by the documentary "Sick Around The World". This film explores the universal healthcare systems of five capitalist democratic countries. They all boast higher life expectancies, lower infant mortality rates, and less healthcare spending per capita than the United States.

Hello all! A group from the OSU College of Medicine is presenting this panel on the state of the Affordable Care Act. For anyone who wants to know more about the ACA and its implications (especially for those hitting the med school interview circuit this year!) this is a great opportunity.
