Henson Bowling Academy, LLC Announcement: The HBA opened its doors in 2017 with a structure that is very different from today. A couple of years ago the business model changed by offering two major functions: 1) Private bowling instruction to any bowler of any age and any skill level and 2) Multi-day bowling camps for youth bowlers, for adult bowlers, and a combination of each. As CEO and Director of Academics, I, Bill Henson, have delivered all the private instruction and overseen all the camps. Beginning in 2025 I have decided to gradually offload my responsibilities of private instruction to two highly qualified new faculty members in the organization.

Mike Craig is a USBC Silver level coach with sixteen years of PBA experience. He also was a bowling coach at Westerville High School for ten years where he amassed a record of 90 wins against 23 losses, and was ultimately inducted into the Westerville Bowling Hall of Fame in 2024. Mike has extensive experience in the pro shop business and is on staff with Storm Bowling Products, Inc.

Norman Smith is currently pursuing his USBC Silver level coaching credential and has eight years of PBA experience. In 2000 he became a USA Junior Olympic Bowling Instructor. In 1994 Norm was inducted into the Greater Washington (DC) Senate Hall of Fame in the TNBA. He has participated as a volunteer coach in numerous Central Ohio Youth bowling camps. Norm also has extensive experience in the pro shop business and is on staff with Storm Bowling Products, Inc., VISE, and IAM Bowling.

I am very excited to add Mike and Norm to the HBA staff and look forward to having them add their immense knowledge to the organization and help our students progress in their understanding and skill in the sport of bowling.

I will remain the HBA CEO to oversee all operations and will be heavily involved in organizing and running camps.

Storm Bowling is doing a MatchMaker event during the HBA Adult Summer Camp on Sunday. It's open to all those registered for the camp.

Each year the USBC holds the most prestigious, grueling, and most difficult youth bowling tournament over the course of six days of competition. Several thousand youth bowlers from around the world travel to the host city to compete with hopes of taking home the title of Junior Gold Champion. This month it was held in Indianapolis, IN. There are eight divisions - U20 boys/girls, U18 boys/girls, U15 boys/girls, and U12 boys/girls.

The Henson Bowling Academy, LLC is pleased to announce that two of its alumni, Carter Street (U20 Boys) and Aidan Furukawa (U18 Boys) captured their respective titles and forever will be known as USBC Junior Gold Champions. CBS Sports Network will air the TV finals in August. Aidan's will be on August 22 at 9 pm and Carter's on August 29 at 9 pm.
