Social impact isn't always measured by a single achievement—it's reflected in the people, organizations, and communities that are stronger because someone chose to lead.
At Franklin’s 182nd Commencement on Sunday, Dr. Angela Brake, DPS ’23, was recognized with the 2026 Alumni Award for Social Impact.
Angela has built a career focused on developing leaders, strengthening organizations, and expanding opportunities for others. Her work has spanned business, education, and nonprofit organizations, including leadership roles with The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, Akron Public Schools, and Limitless Ambition, where she currently serves as Director of Operations.
Beyond her professional work, Angela is deeply committed to community impact through mentoring, volunteer leadership, and service with organizations dedicated to education, equity, and opportunity.
Her story is a powerful reminder that leadership isn't just about what we accomplish—it's about the lives we impact along the way.
Alumni, help us congratulate Angela on this well-deserved recognition.

This weekend at Franklin University’s 182nd Commencement, we celebrate 1,227 graduates as they officially join the Franklin University alumni community — including 167 Earn + Learn graduates who earned their master’s degrees while working full time.
We’re especially proud to recognize these newest alumni from our Earn + Learn program, representing partners including OhioHealth, Nationwide Children's Hospital, and the City of Columbus - City Hall. Through employer-supported education, they completed their degrees in just 18 months while continuing to serve in their professional roles every day.
Their journey reflects what so many Franklin students know well — that progress often happens in the margins of a busy life, one “next thing” at a time.
Congratulations to all of our graduates this weekend. We’re proud to welcome you into the Franklin University alumni community and excited to see where your next chapter leads.
