West High School 50th Reunion - 1963

If you live locally, this is a great opportunity to take a walk around West at your own leisure. Minelli’s pizza and salad will be available at 6pm before touring starts. Among other areas, the ‘new (since our days)’ library and auditorium will be open. You can try to find your ‘senior registration’ seat in the auditorium. This is always a popular event. You just may run into a former classmate or neighbor, or someone else you knew just from living on the westside. 🤠

This Friday, May 10, 2024 we will have two of our very own West High School Seniors, ANNABELLE COOPER & JAYDEN FOSTER, graduate from Columbus State Community College with their Associates of Arts degree!

Out of the 12,000 CCS seniors, only FOUR students will be graduating with an Associate’s degree and TWO of them are from WEST!

COWBOY FAMILY – THIS IS A HUGE ACCOMPLISHMENT FOR OUR COLLEGE CREDIT PLUS TEAM, AMAZING ACHIEVEMENT FOR OUR WHS STUDENTS, A HISTORIC MILESTONE FOR WEST, AND OUR ENTIRE CCS COMMUNITY!

ULTIMATELY A TESTAMENT TO THE ACADEMIC INVESTMENT THAT WE HAVE MADE HERE AT WEST TO PROVIDE ACCESS AND OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL OF OUR STUDENTS TO EXCEL BEYOND THEIR IMAGINATION AND ACHIEVE ASTOUNDING SUCCESS!

When the original cupola was taken down a few years ago, the next day a friend looked in the West dumpster and found several cupola ‘parts.’ He was able to get most of the wooden ‘ring’ from the base. He cut the ring into 5-6 pieces, polished the wood, and had them engraved with a rendering of West High at Rieser Trophy. I bought one of the pieces and will put it in the Silent Auction at our reunion. Like other items in the Auction, the proceeds will go to the Alumni Association Scholarship Foundation.
(Before you add to this, I also bought a 2nd one and gave it to West High for them to have for one of their display cases.)
