Managing Mass Timber: From Forest to Future is coming to The Ohio State University next week!
This project explores the complete life cycle of mass timber structures, sharing current research and insights from every phase of development. It addresses the benefits, challenges, and persistent misconceptions surrounding engineered timber, from the harvesting of domestic forests to design, engineering, prefabrication, construction, and finishing. The project also highlights end-of-life considerations, offering a comprehensive perspective on the sustainability, performance, and long-term potential of mass timber in the built environment.
The self-guided exhibition will be held in the lobby of the Agricultural Engineering Building from Tuesday, October 13th to Wednesday, October 14th. Following the exhibition, a seminar, delivered by Dr. Anthony Mirando and Dr. Lameck Onsarigo of Kent State University, will be held in room 100 of the Agricultural Engineering Building. The seminar is part of a national tour showcasing Dr. Mirando and Dr. Onsarigo’s research at Kent State University’s College of Architecture & Environmental Design.
