🏆❤️ DAY 5 • THE GRAND FINALE ❤️🏆
We CLOSED OUT Teacher Appreciation Week in championship style at MLK Elementary School! 🐬
Yesterday our amazing teachers and staff enjoyed an incredible BBQ feast from Chester’s Barbecue featuring ribs, chicken, potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans, bread, pickles, and all the fixings! 🍗🔥🍖 It was the perfect way to celebrate a week dedicated to the real MVPs of our school.
Staff members were also surprised with thoughtful gift bags from Aflac, adding another special touch to an already unforgettable day. 🎁💙
The day started with breakfast treats sponsored by Community Schools United, helping our teachers begin the morning feeling appreciated and celebrated. Then mid morning, the fun continued with refreshing virgin piña coladas sponsored by Community Schools United and lovingly served by Mrs. Pizarro! 🍍🥥☀️ Those tropical treats brought smiles, laughter, and the perfect little “vacation vibe” during the school day.
This week was filled with joy, laughter, treats, encouragement, celebration, and moments intentionally designed to remind our educators just how valued they are. From Signing Day to the Concession Stand Takeover, All Star Recognition Day, the VIP Recovery Lounge, and today’s Championship After Party Finale, our MLK Dolphin Family showed up with love all week long.
A huge THANK YOU to Chester’s Barbecue for the delicious meal and continued support of educators, to Aflac for blessing our teachers and staff with generous gift bags, and to Community Schools United for helping us create such a fun and uplifting experience for our faculty. Your kindness and support made this week truly special.
To our teachers and staff:
Thank you for every lesson taught, every child encouraged, every tear wiped, every late afternoon, every extra effort, and every ounce of love you pour into students daily. You are appreciated more than words can express.
THIS was your week. Your moment. Your spotlight. ❤️💙
GO DOLPHINS! 🐬

Halftime Reset: VIP Recovery Lounge was exactly what our champions needed! 💙
Yesterday, our teachers stepped into the Zen Den for a little peace, relaxation, and recovery during Teacher Appreciation Week. From calming vibes to sweet treats and thoughtful surprises, today was all about pouring back into the people who pour into our students every single day.
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make today special:
✨ Mind of Christ for the delicious pastries
✨ St Mary’s Road UMC for self care items
✨ Dr. Joyner for the smoothies, gift bags, and decor
✨ Mrs. Pizarro for the backdrop
✨ Dr. White for the tea station
Teachers also received a special massage coupon for next week because they deserve every moment of care and appreciation!
The smiles, laughter, calm moments, and conversations today reminded us just how important it is to care for the hearts of those who care for children all day long.

Happy Principal Appreciation Day to an incredible leader, Ms. Thompson! 💙🐬
Today we celebrate a principal who truly goes above and beyond every single day to ensure that both students and teachers feel supported, valued, and empowered. Ms. Thompson leads with compassion, care, and a genuine commitment to uplifting everyone in our school community. Her ability to connect with others and create a positive, nurturing environment is what makes MLK such a special place.
She works tirelessly alongside our families, staff, and community stakeholders to ensure that our students and teachers have the resources they need to succeed. Her leadership is not just about managing a school, it’s about building relationships, fostering growth, and creating opportunities for everyone to thrive.
Ms. Thompson embodies the qualities of an exceptional principal: she is a visionary, a servant leader, a problem-solver, and a constant source of encouragement. She inspires others to be their best, celebrates successes big and small, and leads with integrity and purpose.
Her vision for MLK is clear. It’s to ensure that our Dolphins continue to grow, learn, and make waves that create a lasting, positive impact on their future. Because of her leadership, our school is stronger, our community is closer, and our students are better prepared for what lies ahead.
Thank you, Ms. Thompson, for all that you do. We appreciate you today and every day! 💫
