Good morning, all. South has a new Band Director, Anthony Sewell. He would love to welcome SHS Alumni to participate with the band at home games. If you are interested, please let us know. Homecoming is this coming Friday, so it is too late to organize this year.
Also, Staci McWherter, a local resident and SHS Band Booster, feeds the band members before each game starting at 5:30. If alumni band members wish to volunteer to help with the setup, it would be a great opportunity to meet the kids and support Anthony Sewell's band program. Please contact Larry Latta, President of the SHS Alumni Association if you have any questions regarding volunteer opportunities.

Hello, all. I've been asked by Larry Latta, Pres. of the Alumni Association, to reach out and see if there's any interest in putting the Alumni band back together. Larry thinks the time is right - he said the principal would definitely want us. When I asked about Mr. Thomas's involvement, he said we would be independent from him. Please let me know if you're interested. Larry said he'd help with acquiring instruments where needed. I believe we'd just sit in the stands and play. It would be nice to be a presence again. And heaven knows their current band is so small, it could use a boost now and again. Thoughts???
