Charles has nurtured the minds and hearts of scholars, priests, entrepreneurs, executive officers, artists, doctors, legal professionals, and community leaders. High school classes were held for two years at Sacred Heart School in Downtown Columbus until September of 1925 when general contractor J. Lang completed the Broad Street building. It was the first in Ohio using steel-reinforced concrete.

Architect Robert J. Kraus used a mix of French Renaissance (parallel wings joined by a front colonnade) and Mediterranean (arches used in colonnade, doorways and brickwork) styles to design the original structures: the main building, powerhouse and gymnasium.

Students from the Class of 2029 from CSG and St. Charles came together to assemble more than 100 hygiene kits for fellow teens served by Huckleberry House, while also enjoying time to connect, build friendships, and strengthen our communities.
