Some memories remind you exactly why this work matters. đź’™

We are taking a moment to look back — Catch Court "Raised My Wings". The faces, the stories, and the milestones that have shaped We Amplify Voices. Every chapter of this journey has been written by community, and we are so grateful for every single moment.

Your feelings are valid — and creative expression can be one of the most powerful ways to honor them. 💙

This World Mental Health Day, we're reflecting on the connection between art and emotional well-being. Whether it's picking up a paintbrush, writing a few lines, or simply humming a melody, small creative acts can help us tune into ourselves, release what we've been carrying, and find a little more peace.

Start small. Be mindful. Give yourself permission to feel — and to create.

Two years ago, a room full of middle schoolers proved that when young people are truly listened to, they write the blueprint for collective healing. 🎶

"Quick Fix" was created at ACPA Middle School alongside songwriter James Harker and vocalist Liz Fisher. But make no mistake: the students drove this entire project. They owned their narrative, directed the video, and animated scenes to turn their shared lived experiences into art.

At We Amplify Voices, this is why we exist. Giving space for youth to process their world through creative expression doesn't just make a song—it validates their perspective, builds empathy across communities, and creates music that continues to resonate years later.

Some songs fade. The ones that give people back their power stay with you forever.

Young people have so much creativity inside them — and at Olde Orchard Elementary, we got to witness it firsthand. 🎨

Over the summer, WAV created a space where students could explore their emotions, build confidence, and express who they are through art. The results were nothing short of remarkable.

This is the heart of what we do: showing up for young people and giving their voices room to grow.

This is why we do what we do. đź’™

Artist Charlotte McGraw stopped by Avondale Elementary for a magical creature collage workshop with Mrs. Flowers' and Mr. Nash's 3rd graders! Students read Charlotte’s book, shared their ideas, created their own custom artwork, and went home with their very own copy of Welcome to Charlottesville: The Story of Charlotte McGraw. 📖✨

Seeing young minds connect with a story and bring their imagination to life is the heart of We Amplify Voices. Huge thanks to Avondale Elementary and our awesome team members, Nora and Ben! 🎨

A summer to remember. 🎨🎶✨ "Some Days We Fall" a song made in collaberation with our summer camp youth and talented songwriter Dom Deshawn.

From the first day of camp to the final song, summer season was full of creativity, growth, and genuine community.

Thank you to every young person, facilitator, and supporter who made this summer what it was.

Some songs carry a story that deserves to be heard again. 🎶

WAV Rewind is back — and "FInally Here" is a reminder of what becomes possible when people are given the space, the support, and the courage to tell their truth through music. There is profound meaning in creating and holding a safe, compassionate space for individuals who have walked through traumatic events and life’s hardest circumstances. When we offer that room to heal and express, we honor their resilience and help transform heavy experiences into powerful art.

For this release, the Catch Court women of 2024 worked alongside songwriter Ebri Yahloe to compose a track that truly reflects their journey, holding and then sharing their authentic stories through song.

Give it a listen, feel the strength behind the words, and share it with someone who needs to hear it today.
