Our third graders took learning to new heights **pun intended** on their field trip to the Columbus Airport on Thursday! ✈️ They explored the airport, got an up-close look at aviation, and learned so much along the way.

We’re so proud of our Sonics and the way they represented Smith! They were curious, respectful, and wonderful ambassadors for our school. 💙💛

A big thank-you to everyone at the airport who welcomed us, showed us around, and made learning such a fun adventure! And a special shout-out to Miss Haines for putting this video together so we can relive and share the fun!

The students who sold 20 items during our school-wide fundraiser got to celebrate in a BIG way today!
A limo ride AND a trip to Dairy Queen for ice cream!
They worked hard and definitely earned this sweet celebration.

Our goal is for our students to work with their team of volunteers for 100 days! Our students earn a sticker each time they attend Book Buddies and give their best efforts. This group of L Frances Smith Elementary students couldn't wait to take home their stickers to show their families.

A little sparkle, a lot of books, and SO much fun! 🤠📚✨

Our Sonics had a full day of festivities! Staff celebrated Dolly Day by dressing up like Dolly Parton, and the “Dolly Carton” made its rounds to deliver FREE books to every student..
in true Dolly fashion!

The fun kept going with PBIS Friday! From diamond art to recess and time with friends, our Sonics celebrated the awesome ways they SOAR! A big congratulations to our PBIS winners who earned a squishy! (Enjoy a few extra PBIS winners from the last few weeks whose pictures were lost in the shuffle, so sorry!)

To top it all off, Mrs. Andress created a new version of Dolly’s “9 to 5,” and wrapped up the celebration by singing Happy Birthday to our amazing Dr. Voelz! 🎶🎂💛

📣 BCSC Referendum Renewal Overview Webinar Announcement

BCSC invites our community to join us for a virtual presentation on Tuesday, September 22 at 7:00 p.m. to learn more about the proposed renewal of BCSC’s operating referendum, which will appear on the November ballot.

During the webinar, BCSC officials will share factual information about the referendum and answer questions from the community.

The presentation will cover:

-Renewal of the same referendum rate approved by voters in 2020
-How referendum funds support the recruitment and retention of certified and classified staff, including teachers, teaching assistants, bus drivers, custodians, and others
-How the referendum has contributed to historic outcomes in student achievement, staff retention, school safety, and STEM opportunities
-How this proposal continues the existing referendum rather than establishing a new referendum

Thank you Indiana District Lutheran Women In Mission for your generous goodie bag donation to our teachers! 💙 We felt so loved and appreciated! Each bag was filled with thoughtful treats and surprises, and it truly meant so much to our staff to be celebrated and encouraged. 🥰

Our teachers pour so much into their students every single day, and gestures like this are such a wonderful reminder that our community sees and appreciates all they do. Thank you, again, for thinking of our Smith staff and helping make their day a little brighter! 💙
