Thank you to everyone who joined us for ODA Day at the Statehouse last week!🦷🌟🇺🇸

A special thank you to the Ohio Dental Association for organizing this event & giving dental students the opportunity to learn about advocacy & engage with issues impacting the future of our profession. We are grateful for the chance to hear directly from leaders in organized dentistry & better understand how legislation affects dentists, patients, and access to care across Ohio.❤️

This year, we discussed:
✔️ Supporting House Bill 845 to improve transparency in dental insurance contracting
✔️ Supporting House Bill 429 to address insurance downcoding and bundling practices
✔️ Opposing House Bill 182 to protect community water fluoridation

We also explored broader issues including protecting community water fluoridation, increasing insurance transparency & accountability, expanding access to care through workforce & Medicaid initiatives, as well as preserving dentist-led care.🪥

Thank you again to all of our members who took time out of their day to attend and learn how advocacy helps shape the future of dentistry. More information on these legislative priorities can be found on Slide 2! 🏛️

Join us for ODA Day at the Statehouse on May 20th at the Athletic Club in downtown Columbus!🌟🦷

This is an incredible opportunity to advocate for the future of dentistry alongside dental professionals and students from across Ohio. Students are welcome to come and go throughout the day as their schedules allow, with programming expected to run 8 AM - 4 PM.📢

This year’s advocacy topics include promoting community water fluoridation, dental insurance reform, workforce issues, and protecting the integrity of dental care by fighting against the idea of dental therapists. Your voice matters, and this is a chance to see firsthand how organized dentistry creates change at the legislative level.🇺🇸

To help prepare for the event, join us for a Lunch & Learn on May 12th in Room 1160 featuring Eric Richmond, Esq., Director of Legal and Legislative Services for the ODA. Pizza will be provided, and we’re hoping to fill up all 120 seats!🍕
