Licking Heights West Elementary has been recognized for its success with Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). PBIS involves teaching students expected behaviors in a consistent and positive way, modeling and acknowledging those behaviors and helping all students meet expectations and be successful. Meet the Teacher/Supply Drop Off for 2021-2022 - CHANGE!

South/West Families:

As you know, we had planned on moving from an In-Person Meet-the-Teacher event to a virtual one this coming Tuesday August, 17th. However, we have listened to the feedback from our families and brainstormed ways in which we could make this happen live and in-person while doing our best to keep everyone safe. With that being said, building administrators have been working with district administration as well as our teaching staff to put a plan in place. We will hold our regular Meet-the Teacher/Supply Drop off event this coming Tuesday, August 17th adhering to the following safety protocols:

1. Last names A-L will come from 1:00-1:50 and last names M-Z will come from 2:10-3:00. This will allow us time to transition in a safe manner and limit the amount of people in the building at once.
Everyone entering the building is strongly encouraged to wear a mask. Please do your very best to keep socially distanced from other families.

2. We are asking that our students attend with only one parent or adult to try and limit the number of individuals in the building. Siblings or students who do not go to South/West should not attend our Meet the Teacher event.

3. We will not be processing fees, residency or any other office business on this day. Please e-mail secretaries for any of these items.

4. We want you to be able to meet your child’s teachers, but please keep moving and allow other families to do the same. This is not the time to have a parent/teacher conference.

If you do not feel safe entering the building for this event, we understand and you can rest assured that we will make certain that your child gets to their classroom on the first day and has the opportunity to see the building. We hope that this plan affords everyone the opportunity to meet teachers and drop off supplies in a safe and timely manner.

South and West Families,

This year's Meet the Teacher/Supply Drop Off event will be held virtually this year on Tuesday, August 17th. Teachers will be posting or emailing a “Meet the Teacher'' video to families on Tuesday. Please have students bring supplies gradually on the first few days of school.

Teacher assignments will be mailed out by Thursday morning. Please check your mailboxes in the next few days to find these.

All important beginning of the school information will be found on this letter.
