Last Friday, Dr. Lisa Juckett along with OTD Third Year Student, Julia Buschbacher, and PhD Student Rejina Akter presented at the Ohio Association of Gerontology and Education (OAGE) Conference right here in Columbus, OH. Dr. Juckett also put on a dementia sensory simulation workshop at the conference.

Congratulations to Bella Sansone, current dual OTD/PhD student, who was one of the winners for Best Graduate Research Poster at our Annual HRS Research Day! Keep up the great work!

In Dr. Husband's Constraint Induced Movement Therapy (CIMT) Pediatrics Lab, first year OT students made constraints with a partner and practiced fun activities using their non-dominant hand!

As we continue to celebrate Occupational Therapy Month, check out Leanne Kelly's Behind the Badge story, recently shared on HealthBeatHub which is our internet digital platform and mobile app for The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Leanne is an Occupational Therapist who has guest lectured in many of our OT courses and has supported our Candidate's Days for many years. Our OT students have been working hard on their Doctoral Capstones and are excited to share their research! OTD students in Dr. Bartman's orthopedics course learned about prosthetics from Michelle Voss of OSSUR. Students practiced myotome testing and used their own muscles to control myoelectric prosthetics. They also practiced using body powered prosthetics to complete functional tasks.
