A Paroled2pride Alumni Story of Faith & Second Chances

Pauline, a proud alumna of Paroled2pride, faithfully worked with our organization for 15 years. Because of a felony conviction that remained on her background for more than 20 years, finding employment opportunities outside our organization was difficult.

We are thankful that God allowed Paroled2pride to be a blessing in her journey—giving her an opportunity to work, serve, grow, and demonstrate that a person’s past does not have to determine their future.

Pauline’s faithfulness reminds us why reentry and second chances matter. We give God all the glory for allowing us to be part of her journey.

It’s not the lie told it’s the people that believe it

In 2023, I met Ian Gustafson with the Mississippi Center for Justice, and we began a conversation about bringing an expungement clinic to Columbus, Mississippi. We didn’t know then just how many doors God would open through that conversation.

One of the first individuals we assisted received her expungement, and the impact went far beyond clearing a record. Since then, she has moved out of state, secured better employment, better housing, and a better school district for her children. That is what a second chance can do—not only change one life, but create new opportunities for an entire family.

Three years later, in 2026, Paroled2Pride had the privilege of once again hosting the Mississippi Center for Justice in Columbus for another expungement clinic—and God blessed it to be bigger and better.

🎉 EXPUNGEMENT CLINIC — A MAJOR SUCCESS! 🎉

What an incredible day of second chances, restored opportunities, and hope for the future!

Paroled2Pride extends a heartfelt THANK YOU to the Mississippi Center for Justice and its dedicated attorneys and staff, Mississippi Votes, One Voice, and Columbus Parks & Recreation.

Without your commitment, time, resources, and willingness to serve our community, this event would not have been possible.

Together, we helped individuals take important steps toward clearing barriers, restoring their voices, and creating new opportunities.

Reentry matters. Second chances matter. Community partnerships make a difference.
