September 11, 2001 - On this day, 25 years ago, America (and humanity) experienced a tragic attack that would claim the lives of almost 3,000 people that day. Two singers from Julliard decided that they should do something to reach out and help their community process and heal. Thus, Sing for Hope was born. This non-profit organization began utilizing music therapy to help those affected by the atrocities of 9/11 and to this day they are still in operation.

So as we remember and honor the countless lives lost, the brave men and women that sacrificed for their fellow brother or sister in need, the legacies that they all left, and the lives that they lived; let us also remember the immense power that comes when we join together in unity and love... and how sometimes that comes in the form of a melody.

Never forget. United we stand.

September 1st, 2026- This day in music history marks the 18th year that Gospel Heritage Month will be officially celebrated. Congress and senate passed the bill that would recognize September as the month of recognition for the musical and cultural significance of Gospel music in 2008.
