Our seniors were helping with the community event - Screen On The Garden - at Mills District. There was food, music and “Coco” film screening. It was a great time for the neighborhood to gather and enjoy.

Every year, the senior class of the undergraduate Servant Leadership Program organizes a project that serves the community to enrich as many lives as possible. The goal of the senior project is to give students an experience of applying the education they have received to a real-world problem or need in the Columbus, Georgia, community.
This year, senior class of 2024 will serve Fox Elementary and the Mill District Community.
Through Uptown Tree Trail event, we are selling Christmas trees to businesses to raise financial support for our project to make differences for our community.
We would like to call sponsorship from business and organizations to support our project, also create advertising for your organizations and other benefits.
We would also like to invite families and members in the community to come out Trail Lighting and Uptown Holiday Kick-Off Event on Broadway, downtown starting from December 1st.

Today students from the Servant Leadership Program spent their time supporting Fox Elementary as part of Columbus State University’s annual Day of Service.

Day of Service is one of many ways our students serve our community partners, and give back to the community of Columbus.

While at Fox Elementary students sorted books, Lego sets, and organized and rearranged a computer lab.

This morning we got to (somewhat) surprise and celebrate our friend Nico’s upcoming graduation! 🎓🎉

Nico has been a valuable member of the W.B. Turner Center for Servant Leadership team as a Graduate Assistant (and SO much more) for the last year and a half, and we wish we could keep him around forever, but we are also very excited for him and the next chapter of his life! (You’re getting a great one !)

We are very glad that Nico will still be around as an adjunct instructor for us and a member of our campus community, so it’s nice to know this isn’t a goodbye—it’s just a “we will see you around A LOT later.” 🤣

One of our FAVORITE Reflections is the annual Holiday Celebration Luncheon!

For this Reflection, students are invited to come in their comfy clothes and enjoy a little break from studying for finals with food, fellowship, and a friendly ornament swap. This year’s most popular ornaments were dinosaurs of all colors! 🦕 🦖
