At NSPRA's National Seminar last month, Beavercreek City Schools Public Relations Specialist and OHSPRA Director of Contests & Awards Anaka Rettig earned a prestigious NSPRA Gold Medallion Award! 👏🏅

Anaka was recognized for her outstanding Special Communication Project/Campaign, "The Power of One: A Unified Identity," showcasing the impact of strategic communication in building a strong, unified school district brand.

We're proud to celebrate this well-deserved national recognition and the incredible work Anaka continues to do for Beavercreek City Schools and the school PR profession.

Congratulations to OHSPRA Director of Membership Kristen Cash, who was recognized at the NSPRA National Seminar in New Orleans as an NSPRA Emerging Leader representing the Mideast Region! 👏 🎉

Each year, this national honor recognizes up to seven school communications professionals across the country who are making an outstanding impact in school public relations, communications or marketing within their first five years in the profession.

Kristen's commitment to advancing the school PR profession is evident through her thoughtful leadership, collaborative spirit and dedication to serving others. As OHSPRA's Director of Membership, she plays a key role in strengthening member engagement and helping launch the association's statewide Mentor-Mentee Program, creating meaningful opportunities for connection and professional growth.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate this well-deserved national recognition. Congratulations, Kristen!

We're proud to share that OHSPRA accepted its 2026 NSPRA Mark of Distinction Chapter Recognition Awards during the NSPRA National Seminar in New Orleans on Sunday!

Our chapter was recognized in all four award categories:

🏆 Special PR/Communication Program, Project or Campaign
🏆 Coalition-Building/Collaborative Communication Efforts

These honors reflect the dedication, collaboration and innovation of our board, our members and the incredible work happening across our chapter. Thank you to everyone who helps to make OHSPRA a strong community for school communication professionals!

The Glenwood Girls Group, made up of 5th and 6th grade students at Glenwood Intermediate School, recently used their creativity to help bring the 2026 OHSPRA Spring Conference “In Full Bloom” theme to life. Recruited by OHSPRA Chapter Manager and Plain Local Schools PR Director Mary Beddell, the girls were given a budget, inspiration and the freedom to create. Alongside advisor Rita Walbeck, they designed beautiful centerpieces featuring hand-dyed wooden flowers, donated books, and their creativity.

OHSPRA was proud to celebrate the girls with a special pizza party as a thank you for their hard work. 💙
