Looking for more summer adventure before the school year begins?

If you have a child who just finished fourth grade this spring, don't miss the Ohio History Pass Plus! Throughout the month of July, fourth graders and their families can enjoy free admission to participating historic sites and museums across Ohio.

It's a great opportunity to explore Ohio's history, create memories, and discover destinations across the state.

Passing of OSD Student Kaniya Boone

It is with a heavy heart and the support of her family that we share the loss of student Kaniya Boone (OSD Class of 2025).

Kaniya joined Ohio School for the Deaf in 2011 as a preschooler and graduated in 2025. As a 4PLUS student this year, Kaniya thrived and developed transition, employment, and independent skills that showed her strong spirit and beautiful connections in and beyond the Spartan family. This year alone, Kaniya helped make an OSD Spartans shirt for every student and staff, just one visible way to see the impact she has on so many.

Our hearts go out to family, staff, teachers, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. We send our thoughts to the family and will be available to offer check-ins and support for our students and staff as they remember Kaniya in this difficult season. The service will be held on July 3, with the viewing starting at 11:00 a.m., followed by the service at noon. These will be held at Caliman Funeral Services, 3700 Refugee Rd., Columbus, OH 43232.
