OSU Inter-Professional Council (IPC)

On March 30th, 2026, the Interprofessional Council sent out a survey to its constituents to gauge the professional student body’s opinion about the Wexner name on the Ohio State Medical Center. This post summarizes the main results and takeaways.

Last weekend was full of interprofessional collaboration and education! Sunday morning, we had our flagship event, The Interprofessional Summit, where we had guest speakers from three professional colleges speak to their perspectives on How to Create a Great First Impression. Students were invited to get an updated headshot taken at this event, and each participant went home with a free gift!

Later that evening, before the council’s final meeting of the academic year, we were fortunate enough to have guest speakers from The Ohio State Medical Center ni****ne cessation clinic. Dr. Meredith Puckett, PharmD spoke to the value of a pharmacist in the pharmacologic management of ni****ne cessation, and we even got to hear the perspectives of a real student that has utilized these services. This was a fantastic pre-meeting learning opportunity for our senators!

IPC’s Annual Interprofessional Summit will be Sunday, April 19th from 9 am to 2 pm, and the theme this year will be “How To Create A Good First Impression.” We will have speakers from the College of Pharmacy, College of Medicine, and College of Optometry and there will be offering free headshots for all who attend. Fun week for our IPC constituents!! We are celebrating optometry and medical students that worked interprofessionally at the Noor Free Clinic, IPC senators that distributed cookies at our biannual cookie day, as well as our lovely professional students that volunteered their time to make blankets for Project Linus. We appreciate everyone who attends these events that make IPC so special 😊

It’s that time of year again! TICKET REGISTRATION FOR THE 5th ANNUAL IPC DRAG SHOW IS NOW LIVE! 🌈🌈🌈🌈

This show highlights faculty, professors, students, and many more performances from students and professional drag performers around Columbus! 
 
The show will take place on Feburary 21st, 2026, from 6 - 9pm at the Ohio Union Ballroom! Tickets will include dinner and admission to the show. There will also be a bar throughout the event that takes credit and debit. ALL proceeds support Kaleidoscope Youth Center (KYC) and our professional drag performers! KYC is a local non-profit that provides support to LGBTQIA+ youth through social activities and discussions, leadership development, life-skills, community, and health and wellness education.

As a follow up to our post from January 19th with recent guidance from the Office of Legal Affairs and OSUPD, we wanted to share further information on what to do if ICE were to arrive on campus. Please reach out to your IPC senator or our executive board if you have additional concerns or need further support/resources. Our constituent’s safety and wellbeing is our top priority.

Our 5th Annual IPC Drag Show will be Saturday, February 21st!! 🌈🥳🎉
