Ten reasons to study Chinese or Japanese in SPEAC this summer
1. It’s a lot of fun!
2. SPEAC is streamlined with our academic year program. Completing Level 1 in SPEAC means you will be ready to start Level 2 in the fall.
3. It’s accelerated. In 8 weeks, you learn the equivalent of a full-year of materials.
4. The advanced level won’t be so far off, if you take SPEAC. You can combine Level 1 in SPEAC this summer and Level 2/3 double-credit track during the academic year. In 12 months, you will have completed 3 levels of Chinese or Japanese. In Japanese, you can even add the second SPEAC at Level 4 to complete the equivalent of 4 years of study in the regular track in only 14 months.
5. It offers the opportunity for continuous learning. If you have already begun studying Chinese and Japanese, you can continue to add to your knowledge, rather than spend all of the summer months forgetting what you’ve learned.
6. Class size is small. Section size in SPEAC is normally capped at 15. Level 1 tends to have a smaller size.
7. You will be surrounded by equally committed classmates and instructors.
8. You can use your regular OSU tuition.
9. Summer is a great time to spend in Columbus.
10. It’s a good investment of your time.
