Missoula Children's Theatre - The Little Mermaid - Open Auditions July 20, 9:45-11:45 a.m. at Federated Church, 2704 15th Street, Columbus

Auditions are open to children entering grades 1-12. Children will need to stay for the entirety of the two-hour audition, the performances on Saturday, July 25, and rehearsals during the week. There is no fee to audition, but if your child is cast, the participation fee is $50.

Because each MCT production is designed for a cast of up to 60 performers, not all who audition are guaranteed a role, but we are so proud of every child who takes the stage to audition.

Central Community College and Columbus Public Schools (CPS) have entered a partnership that will allow the Raiders to play home volleyball and basketball games at Columbus Middle School (CMS) for the 2026-27 season.

The temporary move is necessary as the Raider Fieldhouse undergoes a major renovation and expansion. The project will modernize the facility with improved athletic training spaces, enhanced accessibility, expanded community gathering areas and upgraded amenities.

"This partnership reflects the strong relationship between Central Community College and Columbus Public Schools," said Mary Young, CCC director of athletics. "We're grateful to CPS and I can't say enough about the collaboration of its staff in making this arrangement possible. We're thankful to keep our home games in Columbus during the Raider Fieldhouse renovation and are excited about what these improvements will mean for our student-athletes and the community."

As the former Columbus High School, CMS is adequately equipped to host collegiate volleyball and basketball contests. Additional information regarding game schedules, ticketing and game-day information will be shared by CCC athletics before each season begins.

Happy 250th birthday to the United States of America!

All Central Community College locations will be closed tomorrow, July 3, in observation of Independence Day. Regular hours will resume on Monday, July 6.

Central Community College recently received a generous donation from the Columbus Women’s Club to support the Welding Program at the Columbus Campus. The contribution will help advance work surrounding the Salama Stove, an innovative project created by Dr. Stice.

Designed to improve quality of life for families in Africa, the Salama Stove provides a safer way to cook food while also enabling access to hot water for drinking and sanitation. Through hands-on involvement in the project, welding students gain valuable real-world experience while contributing to a solution that promotes health, safety, and sustainability in communities around the world.

CCC extends its sincere appreciation to the Columbus Women’s Club for their support of student learning and global impact initiatives.
