Are you wading around searching for a professional development opportunity to gain hands-on experience with fish sampling? If so, check out our Fish Sampling Techniques Workshop on October 3 and October 4, 2026!
This two-day workshop is designed to demonstrate the fish-sampling gears most commonly used by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources-Division of Wildlife (ODW) and Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (OEPA) for undergraduate students interested in seasonal agency work and fisheries biology professions. Stone Lab, ODW, and OEPA biologists provide hands-on experience with fyke nets, gill nets, trawls, and boat-based as well as wading electrofishing methods.
Workshop registration is first-come, first-served and limited to 9 participants. Preference will be given to undergraduate college students until September 5. Participants will not receive college credit. Workshop fee includes room and meals.
