In 1913, a proposal was made to merge the Starling Ohio Medical College with The Ohio State University. On July 1 of 1914, the OSU Board of Trustees officially acquired the properties of the SOMC. It's been a few weeks since we co-hosted the statewide Give Kids A Smile kickoff with the Ohio Dental Association, but we didn't want this year's event to get too far behind us without sharing some photos. What a wonderful day! GKAS is always one of our favorite events of the year.

The courtyard at Postle Hall was buzzing with activity today during the college's annual Safety Carnival for students. Presented by Clinic Administration, students received tips and reminders about safety in the clinic and on campus. Brutus stopped by and got more than he bargained for--a surprise lesson in flossing!

Congratulations to the students who were recognized during the college's 2nd Annual Shared Values Awards Dinner on March 18 in the Atrium at Postle Hall. Nominated by faculty and/or staff, the five students were recognized for consistently demonstrating Ohio State's shared values. Congratulations to: D4 students George Bauer, Timothy Feeney, Phillip Krayterman, and Natalie Le and senior dental hygiene student Ayah Musaitif.

Ohio State's Office of Student Life coordinated with Ohio State alum Jane Abell, owner of Donatos Pizza, along with Donatos' president and CEO, Kevin King, to provide a fun (and kind) BuckeyeLove surprise to classrooms around campus--including classes in the Colleges of Nursing, Optometry, Music, Business, and--you guessed it--Dentistry! The lucky class at our college was the D2's, who were surprised with a pizza lunch today.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Homecoming 2024 this weekend. And CONGRATULATIONS to the Classes of 1974, who celebrated their 50th anniversary during the Golden Buckeyes Dinner on Friday!
