82°,sunny and windy. Fished a new to me, couple hundred acre lake. Walleyes are set up on brush and trees, and they didn't seem to mind the balmy October weather. Minnow bite was the best, they wouldn't look at a crawler. 13 to 15ft was where the action was. Give me a call if you want to get out and get in on the fall harvest! Got out for a few hours this afternoon on a deep, clear lake near Hayward. Fish were much shallower than I thought, with the water temp still being 60°. Jig and crawler was better than minnows. Found walleyes in as shallow as 6 to 7ft. Next week should push more fish shallow with the projected temps.

Got out after work for a couple hours on a smaller lake. Fish were tight to the breaklines. Caught quite a few that were under 15", managed a couple legals, with the last fish coming in at 26"! Fished 3 new lakes in the Hayward area today. First lake, 300 acres, got the lean 23" on a steep weedline break. Marked a bunch of fish, but no takers. Second lake, 500 acres, lokked around for an hours, didn't like what I saw so on to the next. Third lake was 900 acres, slightly stained, found many walleyes on cribs in 19ft. Got my 3 and got out. All fish were on fathead minnows. Water temps ranged from 58 to 62°. Really liking the 7'6" med light St. Croix Rods with the 2500 series Piscifun Alloy S! Big fish hunt tomorrow, stay tuned! Fished two new lakes today. First lake was 300 acres, stained water. Could not find walleyes, but a TON of crappies, in trees and over deeper water. 2nd lake was a deep clear lake, a little over 1000 acres. Found walleyes on cribs, and a little shallower in the weeds. No big fish, but double digits on eater size. No keeping today, just catching 🤣. The walleyes were not everywhere, but when you find them, they're in larger schools. Fall is just going to get better, the big fish that roaming will start to pull up on structure and shallow, then things will get interesting! Rainy, east wind, perfect weather to test out the Piscifun Alloy S 2500 series reel! If you like the Alumix series, then you will love the Alloy S! Beefier drag, similar aluminum frame. Just a touch faster retrieve. Paired with a 7'6" med light St.Croix Avid walleye rod, I may have found my new favorite combo for minnow style baits. Fall is approaching, fish are hungry, get out there and explore some water.
