History fact: Did you know the Central American nations of Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Costa Rica all celebrate their independence on Sept. 15 and on the 16th Mexico marks its national day?!

New Team Member Alert 🚨: Lets give a warm welcome to Lindora Howard- Diawara! She's the new Community Relations Coordinator for our New Americans Initiative.
Before joining us at the Department of Neighborhoods Columbus, she was the founder of Business for Peace Community Development Foundation an organization that helps women and girls build confidence to become agents of change locally and even globally!
She received her bachelor's degree in Sociology from University of Liberia - UL and a Master of Arts in Peace Studies at Notre Dame.
Fun Facts: She loves to cook and she is a 2021 alum of our New American Leadership Academy!

Rock the night away during CBUS Soul Fest! This festival celebrates Columbus' vibrant Black culture, music, history and soul. Come out to Genoa Park along The Scioto Mile on Saturday, Aug. 19, from 4-11 p.m. to enjoy delicious food and great music at this one-day event.
